About this position

We wish to appoint a Senior Accountant, in our Outsourcing Service Line, in Athens.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the areas of accounting, understanding the accounting work and logic behind figures
  • Be part of a team of expert advisors who build bespoke solutions according to clients’ needs, from simply preparing annual statutory accounts to a more comprehensive management reporting solution
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to support the financial analysis process, including compiling data from various data sources using a broad range of tools (MS Excel, Power BI) and building advanced reports
  • Transform your role as controller by translating business needs into business and functional requirements for technology solutions implementation
  • Ensure that month/year-end processes have been successfully completed
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented environment, develop innovative approaches to solve technical challenges
  • Report in a timely and accurate manner to client queries
  • Keep managers informed of any issues arising
  • Liaise with other departments for specialist advice
  • Build relationships with clients
  • Supervise and train junior staff
  • Raise the profile of the firm by ensuring clients are fully satisfied by the service and support they receive

Requirements

  • BSc in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration (MSc will be considered as a plus)
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in a relevant role, ideally in a professional service firm
  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualifications (completed or in progress) will be considered as a plus
  • Working knowledge of Power Query and Power BI will be considered as a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, finance, tax, investment principles and good knowledge of IFRS
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Willingness for continuous learning and development.
  • Ability to express ideas verbally and in writing, in a clear, concise, and professional manner (both in English & in Greek).
  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Positive, confident attitude and communication with people at all organizational levels of the firm and/or client
  • Committed to providing excellent quality work and building client relationships with a focus on details
